Two held, tractors seized in Sopore for illegal mineral extraction

Sopore Police, in collaboration with the mining department, cracked down on illegal mineral mining activities in Nalla Vij at Dachanpara Rafiabad. Two tractors were seized and two drivers were arrested during the operation.

Led by SHO Insp. Tariq Ahmad of Police Station Panzla, the police team initiated the action under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad, Dr. Hilal Ahmad Hilal-JKPS, with assistance from the mining department.

The arrested drivers are identified as Mohammad Yousuf Parray, son of Mohammad Sultan Parray, residing in Wanpora Rohama Rafiabad, and Sajad Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Rashid Dar, from Rohama Rafiabad. The tractors, bearing registration numbers JK15-2366 and JK05E-2577, were being used for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.

A case has been registered against them under relevant sections of the law at Police Station Panzla, and further investigation is underway.
