Jammu and Kashmir Police scored a significant victory in their fight against drug trafficking on May 5th, arresting three interstate drug peddlers in the Jammu district. The operation, conducted under the ongoing “Sanjeeveni” initiative, resulted in the seizure of a staggering 512 grams of heroin, also known locally as “chitta.”

Acting on a tip-off, police launched a vehicle checkpoint and intercepted a suspicious car. A thorough search of the vehicle led to the discovery of the hidden heroin. All three occupants of the car were apprehended.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Pawan Kumar, Abhishek Kumar along with lady Divya Arora all from Mukerian, Punjab. Police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and have initiated an investigation to dismantle the interstate drug smuggling network they believe is involved.
