Kulgam police arrest person, seize vehicle in illegal mining crackdown

In a crackdown on illegal mining activities, Kulgam police arrested a man and seized his vehicle for transporting illegally extracted minerals.

Acting on a tip-off, a police party at the Mirbazar checkpoint intercepted a dumper (registration number JK13G-4107) driven by Yaser Hameed Dar, a resident of Sather Sangam in Anantnag. Upon inspection, the vehicle was found loaded with illegally mined minerals.

The driver, Yaser Hameed Dar, was subsequently arrested, and the vehicle used in the crime was seized.

A case vide FIR No. 80/2024 has been registered at Qazigund Police Station, and an investigation is underway.
