DCO Ramban inspects various medical shops, seals 2 unauthorized medical stores in Rajgarh

RAMBAN, May 14: The Drug and Food Control Organization carried-out an intensified inspection of various medical stores in far-flung areas of the district Ramban to check the registration, authorization and record of availability and sale of medicines, besides checking standard parameters of medicines, available in the chemists’ shops.

On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam, Drug Control Officer (DCO), Ramban Imtiyaz Ahmed   today carried out an extensive inspection at a far flung area of Rajgarh 

He inspected various medical shops at Chuchatter, Chakka of Rajgarh and adjoining area.    

During the inspection, Drug Inspector sealed 2 medical stores onspot for violation of various provisions of Drugs and Cosmetics Act. 

Statutory drug samples of 02 drug formulations were lifted from the market particularly from far flung areas for determining the strength and purity. The chemists were warned of severe action under extant rules in case the mentioned deficiencies are not removed within a stipulated period of time.  They were instructed to install CCTV cameras and ensure that the sale of Drugs is made only on a valid and proper prescription.

The department also requested the general public to put a vigil on persons involved in the trade of Narcotics & Psychotropic drugs, and inform the concerned if they found any violation of rules.  The team also sensitized the people to desist from taking medicines and health services from any unregistered medical stores and medicos.
