Day long Workshop on Drug Abuse organized at Kishtwar

DC, SSP ask Social, Charitable Organizations to join hands to eradicate the menace  

Women felicitated for outstanding achievements  

KISHTWAR, May 09:  The Social Reforms and Charitable Organization Kishtwar in collaboration with Gandhian Societies Trust India on Tuesday organized a one day workshop on Drugs Abuse here in the premises of Ashiana Home. Students from different schools and colleges, besides Public representatives, civil society members, Government Functionaries participated in the workshop.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav was the Chief Guest and Senior Superintendent of Police, Khalil Poswal was Guest of Honour.

  Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that district administration along with police and public is going to involve the parents, religious preachers, teachers for the eradication  of this social evil. He lauded the role of Social Reforms and Charitable Organization for doing noble work to eradicate the social evils and work for the special children, downtrodden people and needy women.

The SSP urged the people to share the information about the perpetrators of drug abuse in their areas to bring them to the book. He informed that the Police Administration has intensified the crackdown against drug trafficking and awareness campaign to educate the youth about hazards of drugs.   

On the occasion, certificates were distributed among the participants. The women achievers were also honoured by the Organization for their outstanding achievements. Dr. Jyoti Parihar, Principal GDC Kishtwar, Dr. Shabnam Laila, Gynecologist District Hospital, Hamida Begum Retired Teacher and Vijay Mala Sen, the  renowned social worker.

 Rajinder Kumar, Trustee Gandhian Societies expressed gratitude to the administration, participants and assured that Gandian Societies Trust will extend its full cooperation for organizing such programmes in future.
