Two bootleggers held in Jammu, 112 bottles seized; FIR registered under Excise Act

In a major crackdown on illegal liquor sales, Jammu Police apprehended two bootleggers and seized a significant amount of illicit liquor on Tuesday.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Vikas Kumar and Shubam Mehra. The operation was carried out by the Bus Stand Police under the supervision of SP City North. During the raid, police effectively recovered a total of 112 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession.

An FIR No. 25/2024 has been registered against the accused under Section 48-A of the Excise Act to address this crime. This section deals with the manufacturing, possession, or transportation of illicit liquor.
