SVEEP team promotes voter awareness at Govt High School Anlay in Leh

Leh, May 7, 2024: The SVEEP team UT Ladakh continued its efforts in promoting voter awareness by organizing a SVEEP voter awareness camp at Government High School Anlay on May 6.

State SVEEP Icon, Punchok Ladakhi appealed the audience to cast their vote and cooperate with the SVEEP team of UT Ladakh to increase the voting percentage. He also performed the recently released election theme song by the CEO Ladakh, highlighting the significance of civic participation through voting.

District SVEEP Icon, Stanzin Dorjay Gya emphasized the importance of casting your vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha election. He highlighted that voting isn’t just about making a choice but also about showing respect for the Indian constitution.

State Nodal Officer, Ladakh, Dr. Tsewang Morup gave detailed information about SVEEP and highlighted its primary goal to build a truly participative democracy in India by encouraging all eligible citizens to register and vote during the elections.

He emphasized that the goal of the SVEEP strategy is to enhance voter turnout in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. This includes purifying the electoral roll of every booth, bridging the gender gap in enrollment and voter turnout, ensuring the inclusion of all non-voters and marginalized sections through targeted interventions, addressing urban and youth apathy in electoral participation, and revitalizing all low-turnout constituencies and polling stations.

In the end, CDPO, Durbuk, Zarina Bano delivered a vote of thanks.
