Silk Mark Expo- 2024 takes off at Kala Kendra Jammu

JAMMU, MARCH 01: Silk Mark Organization of India, an initiative of Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India today started its distinctive Silk Mark Expo 2024 here in the Kala Kendra.

Scheduled to continue till March 8, 2024, the expo will be open to all from morning 11:00 am till evening 8:00 pm during this period.

This expo has around 20 stalls put up by Authorised Users of Silk Mark from all over India covering 08-10 states representing approximately 12 silk weaving clusters.

It has diversified silk products like Tassar Silk sarees with fancy designs having embroidery with contrast color, Kantha work, Silk bags, Shirts, Dhotis, Blouses and Garments apart from traditional Kanjivaram, Banarasi, Pochampally, Murshidabad, Mysore Silk, Uppada, Paithani, sarees.

The Expo offers a great chance for those looking to purchase pure silk for ensuing weddings in the family, upcoming special occasions and festivals or regular use.

The Silk Mark Expo 2024, Jammu was inaugurated by Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, Director, Sericulture Development Department (SDD), Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir in the august presence of Dr. N K Bhatia, Director, CSR&TI, Pampore, K. S. Gopal, CEO, SMOI, Bengaluru and other scientists and staff of Central Silk Board and Sericulture Development Department today here at Kala Kendra.

The Silk Mark Organization has invited all the silk lovers of Jammu to visit the Silk Mark Expo 2024 Jammu to experience and explore the Fabulous World of 100% Pure Silks and encourage the weavers and artisans from across India.

Silk Mark Organization of India, an initiative of Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India organizes Silk Mark Expos all over the country to ensure the discerning silk loving consumers get an opportunity to see and buy 100% pure silk products from across India. These expos also provide a platform to the genuine Weavers, Co-operatives, Societies, Women Entrepreneurs, Traders, etc. to showcase and sell their products to consumers who understand the value of pure silk.

The unique feature of these expos is that not only one gets to see a wide variety of silks from numerous silk weaving clusters from across India but also experience and choose from the all 4 types of commercial silks namely Mulberry, Tasar, Eri and Muga.
