Police arrest 5 gamblers with stake money in Reasi

Reaasi Police arrested five people suspected of gambling and seized ₹25,050 in stake money. The raid took place on April 2nd in Katra, acting on a tip about gambling activity in the area.

A special team from the Katra Police Station conducted the raid at Chintamani, Katra. The arrested individuals were identified as Hans Raj, Baldev Singh, Ashok Kumar, Angrez Singh, and Sandlot Singh. All five are residents of villages near Panchari.

The police have registered a case under Section 13 of the Gambling Act at the Katra Police Station.

Speaking on the operation, Sr Superintendent of Police Reasi, Mohita Sharma, said that the Reasi Police are committed to eliminating social crimes from society. She emphasized that anyone found involved in such illegal activities will face strict legal action.
