On the run for nearly a decade: Absconder nabbed by Rajouri Police in Jammu

In a case of long-overdue justice, a dedicated police team from District Rajouri successfully apprehended an absconder on the outskirts of Jammu city today.

The accused, identified as Sunil Kumar, had been evading arrest since 2015 in a case registered at Nowshera Police Station under FIR No. 129/2013 for sections 279, 337, and 338 of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC).

Acting on a tip from human intelligence, a team led by the Station House Officer (SHO) of Nowshera Police Station meticulously tracked Kumar’s movements and zeroed in on his location near Jammu. After a brief chase, they managed to apprehend the fugitive, who had been on the run for nearly a decade.

Kumar had been on the run since 2015, making him one of the most wanted individuals in the Rajouri district. A general warrant under section 299 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) had also been issued against him by the Hon’ble Court of JMIC Nowshera.

Following the apprehension, the arrested individual will be presented before the Hon’ble Court of Law to face the charges.
