National Dengue Day observed at ANMT School Doda

DODA, May 16: To mark the 8th National Dengue Day 2023, the District IDSP Unit under the banner of District Health Society Doda  today organized an awareness programme at ANMT School Doda, today.

Chief Medical Officer, Dr. A H Zargar was the Chief Guest, while Principal ANMT School, Ansuya Devi, Medical Officer Dr Javed Ahmed Parray, Umar Anayat (Epidemiologist), Mohammad Shafi Attu (HE),  Om Parkash Shan (I/C Malaria Section), Sanjeev Rana (I/C Legal Section) besides staff of CMO Office, Malaria Unit and ANMT School were present.

Umar Anayat, Dr Javed Ahmed Parray and Om Parkash Shan spoke on the occasion as Guest Speakers and underlined the significance of the day.

Three students from ANMT School Pawan Kumar, Priya Rajput and Syed Kamran also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of the day, who were later awarded with certificates by the CMO and guests.

In his address, the CMO educated participants about the Dengue virus, its prevention and control. “Dengue is still one of the most common vector borne diseases in India and it is essential to be aware of the preventative measures that individuals should take to battle the illness, “he said.

On this occasion, IEC material on Dengue prevention was also distributed among the participants by District Malaria Unit Doda.

Faizan A Tramboo conducted the proceeding of the programme.

Similarly, National Dengue Day was also observed in all Medical Blocks viz Assar, Bhaderwah, Gandoh, Ghat and Thathri, where awareness programmes were held.
