National Apprenticeship Mela held in ITI Ramban

RAMBAN, JANUARY 09: The ITI Ramban hosted the PM National Apprenticeship Mela, organized under the Union Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, aligning with PM Narendra Modi’s vision of “Kaushal Bharat, Sashakt Bharat.”

During the Mela, two local companies registered students from ITI, Ramban, paving the way for practical training opportunities. Superintendent Pervez Iqbal Bhat highlighted that major engineering firms, factories, ITC hotels, and projects are obligated to provide apprenticeships, adhering to the Factories Act 1961.

The Superintendent informed that the apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 4,500, gradually increasing, with the government providing Rs. 1,500 per month to the companies. At the conclusion of the apprenticeship, each participant will be awarded a National Apprenticeship Certificate, equivalent to the National Trade Certificate from ITIs—both crucial for securing employment.

Expressing optimism, the Superintendent stated that the aim is to register 30 trainees in private companies through a similar Mela next month. He emphasized that such training initiatives significantly enhance job opportunities for the participants, aligning with the broader goal of skill development and empowerment.
