Labour Department Udhampur releases Education assistance to wards of registered workers

UDHAMPUR, May 01: To mark the celebration of Labour day, Sachin Kumar Vaishya Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur today released an amount of Rs. 21,29,000/- (Rupees Twenty One Lac Twenty Nine Thousand) in favour of the wards of the registered Construction workers on account of educational assistance under Building and other construction Workers Welfare Board schemes.

 While speaking on the occasion, the DC lauded the Labour Department for providing financial assistance to poor labourers from time to time. He exhorted the concerned department to extend the benefits of government schemes to the target beneficiaries in a time bound manner.

Pradyot Gupta, Assistant Labour Commissioner Udhampur, was also present on the occasion and briefed that the main objective of BOCWWB scheme is to assist the poor labourers by providing financial assistance under different components and at the same time to enhance the economic potential of registered construction workers.

Meanwhile, Mazdoor Dastkar Union also  organized Labour Day (Shardanjli Samaroh) at Vishwakarma Mandir MH Chowk Udhampur.   Assistant Labour Commissioner Udhampur was the chief guest and  flagged off a rally in presence of K.L. Bhagat (Ex-MLA), Vijay Manhas,  Sanjeev Sharma, Bansi Lal, S. Lakhvinder Singh, Darshan Kumar Distt. President Mazdoor  Dastkar Union Udhampur among others.
