DC Doda reviews implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen)

Directs RDD to achieve status of Swachh Grams in next two months

DODA,   MAY 1: District Development Commissioner Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan today chaired a meeting of the Rural Development Department in his office chamber to review the work done under various flagship schemes with the main focus on Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen.

 The DDC took a first hand review of the progress made during the previous financial year (2022-2023).

During the meeting different indicators of  SBM were discussed in detail. Special focus was on declaring rural villages as ODF plus in all the three categories ie; Aspiring, Rising and Model.

The chair was apprised about the infrastructure constructed during the last FY for Solid Waste Management and Liquid/Grey Water Management. It was informed that 13O segregation sheds were constructed and 16 Bailing Machines were procured for treatment of solid plastic waste.

Against the target of 148 Community Sanitary Complexes, all 148 were constructed in time. As per the commitment given to Worthy Chief Secretary, all the villages will be declared ODF Plus Model by or before 15th July 2023.

The BDOs were directed to act tough on the people who are found involved in littering in and around the public places. All the BDOs have been vested with the powers of Executive Magistrates under CrPC, 1973 which can be used to impose a fine on the defaulters.

 While addressing the meeting, the DDC directed the concerned officers and executing agencies to achieve the given targets within the given timeline. It was mandated that the  Rural Development Department is the lifeline of rural areas and has to uplift the living conditions of the poor and underprivileged lot.

  The DDC urged upon the BDOs/Panchayat secretaries to demonstrate their desire and commitment in implementing all the schemes/flagship programmes being run by the government.

 The DDC expressed displeasure over poor performances observed under some key sectors like PMAY (G), SBM and Physical completion of the previous works on MIS. He said that the schemes shall be implemented sincerely and with dedication.

DDC directed all BDOs to visit their concerned areas regularly and work in coordination with line departments for ensuring the overall development of the Block/panchayats in order to make their presence felt at the Grass root level also.

DDC urged that all work under  Amrit sarovar should be completed by 15th July and three units of CSCs to be set up in Lal Draman.

The DDC further reiterated that 31st May 2023 shall be the last date for declaring all villages in the Aspiring category.

The DDC further directed to the concerned officials that before the next review meeting all the given parameters must be achieved in totality. He also emphasised to bring the best projects in rural development department under UT capex budget

 The meeting was also attended by ADDC Doda, ADC Bhadarwah, ACD, ACP, CPO, DPO and all BDOs. All the secretary Panchayats and JEs attended the meeting through virtual mode.
