Kishtwar Administration starts arrangements for Shri Hudh Mata Trisandhiya Yatra, Dachhan

KDA organizing mega Jagran at Shri Gori Shankar Mandir to add to spiritual experience of pilgrims

KISHTWAR, May 23: The District Administration Kishtwar has started the arrangements for the upcoming Shri Hudh Mata Trisandhiya Yatra, Dachhan starting on June 20, 2023.

In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Dr Devansh Yadav today chaired a joint meeting of line departments and the members of Shri Hud Mata Trisandhiya Yatra Managing Committee to discuss the requirement of amenities and other logistics for the convenience of  pilgrims.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner /CEO Kishtwar Development Authority Inderjeet Singh Parihar; ASP, Rajinder Singh; SDM Marwah, Dr Mohsin Raza; DIO Kishtwar Kuldeep Kumar; Tehsildars of Kishtwar and Dachhan and the representatives of the Shri Hud Mata Trisandhiya Yatra Managing Committee.

The management committee members projected various demands and sought up-gradation of the infrastructure and availability of basic amenities like drinking water, shelters, provision of toilets etc.. The pilgrimage is scheduled to commence on 20th June 2023 from Kathua in Jammu and reach Kishtwar on 22nd June from where pilgrims will proceed towards the Bhawan with scheduled halts at various locations along the route up to Dachhan.

The Deputy Commissioner issued necessary directions to the concerned officers, including Tehsildars, AD FCS & CA, and Executive Engineers asking them to make all arrangements well before the start of the Yatra.

The ASP Kishtwar informed the chair about the security arrangements and traffic management plan put in place to ensure the convenience and safety of the pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage.

The concerned Executive Engineers and Wildlife authorities assured that the repair work on the Bridle Path from Dhanagradh to Hud Mata Bhawan and from Soundar to Loharna via Hourri Nallah will be completed on priority well ahead of the start of Yatra.

The CEO, Kishtwar Development Authority, Inderjeet Singh Parihar, assured that an adequate number of tents will be made available at Gowkooth and the base camp at Kaikooth Hudh Mata Bhawan during the Yatra.

It was decided that Kishtwar Development Authority (KDA) will organize a mega  jagran at Shri Gori Shankar Mandir Sarkoot to provide a spiritual and devotional experience to the pilgrims.

The KDA would make necessary arrangements for the cleanliness, decoration, and lighting  of the Shri Gori Shankar Mandir premises to create a serene ambiance for the jagran.

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) was instructed to deploy doctors and paramedical staff at the Bhawan during the Yatra, from 20th June to 30th June. Furthermore, directions were given for deployment of the SDRF team at the base camps and Bhawan to ensure emergency response readiness.

The CEO, KDA and the District Information Officer (DIO) Kishtwar were asked to seize the opportunity and promote the linkage between the Yatra and the tourism potential of the area. This can be achieved by highlighting the offbeat destinations in Dachhan Tehsil and showcasing the region’s rich culture during the Yatra, thereby fostering overall development of the area.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Kishtwar said that linking Yatra with tourism can be an effective way to promote the tourism  destination and attract more visitors. He stressed the importance of identifying the tourist attractions and points of interest in and around the pilgrimage site. This can include historical sites, natural landmarks, cultural events, local markets, and recreational activities.

The Deputy Commissioner also stressed to develop informative materials, brochures that provide details about the pilgrimage site as well as the nearby tourist attractions.
