EPFO, PHDCCI Jammu, Dogra Law College organises Session & Awareness Program on EPFO Services & EPF & MP Act

JAMMU July 27: EPFO in association with PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PHDCCI) Jammu and Dogra Law College organized an Interactive Session & Awareness Program on EPFO Services and EPF & MP Act.  Rizwan Uddin, PF Commissioner, J & K, and Ladakh was the Chief Guest & Rahul Sahai Chair PHDCCI Jammu was the Guest Of Honor of the Session. While addressing the participants Mr Razwan thanked PHDCCI Jammu Chapter and Dogra Law College for collaborating and organizing this awareness session. Rizwan briefed the participants about the schemes of EPFO. He shared details about the benefits of Employees Provident Fund (EPF).

Rizwan PF Commissioner, J & K, and Ladakh said that EPF is very important for all the employees and all employees should become members of EPF. This is a source of Social Security for them he added. Rizwan answered several questions raised by the participants. He also discussed various concerns of the participants and on spot directed his office to get those solved. Mr Rizwan said that we should create more awareness about EPF among the masses which will help them in the future if any misfortune event happens. He said that his office is always open for any kind of grievances to be resolved.

Rahul Sahai, Chair PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry was the Guest of Honor of the session. Sahai in his address said that, this event which is organized by the EPFO , PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) & Dogra Educational trust , reflects our commitment in promoting Indian industry, trade, and Entrepreneurship.

He said that, the EPF and MP Act stand as significant labour legislation in India, crafted with the goal of providing social security and financial stability to employees. Administered by the EPFO under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, the Act ensures a safety net for employees during emergencies and fosters a culture of savings, enabling them to maintain a certain standard of living even after retirement. 

Sahai Said that EPF is not merely a tax-saving instrument; it is a valuable benefit scheme for salaried individuals, assuring security and stability for both the employee and their family in their golden years. The Act mandates a compulsory contributory fund to secure an employee future post-retirement or support their dependents in case of untimely demise. He shared about the benefits of EPF to Employees like Financial Security, Long-Term Savings, Tax Benefits, Withdrawal Options, Interest Earnings, Social Security. 

For Employers benefit he said that it helps employer in various ways like Employee Attraction and Retention, Tax Savings, Motivated Workforce, Contributing to Employee Welfare, Reduced Payroll Burden, Compliance with Labour Laws, Positive Corporate Image.

Bipin Kumar, District Nodal Officer, EPFO Jammu, gave a detailed Presentation on EPFO Services and Schemes. 

Samardev Singh Charak, Co Chair, PHDCCI Jammu and Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust presented Vote of Thanks and said it’s a pleasure to host all and specially Mr Rizwan and I am delighted to see his enthusiasm about sharing knowledge and assured that these kind of programs would be regularly hosted . He also applauded amongst employees and employers to take maximum benefit of EPF schemes .He thanked Mr Rizwan & Mr Rahul Sahai hosting the program and assured full support .

The Session was moderated by Ms Parema Bakshi, Lecturer, Dogra Law College. Dr Darshana Sharma, Director Dogra Group of Colleges, Dr Avdhesh Pratap, Principal, Dogra Law College and Mr Amarpreet Singh, Resident Officer PHDCCI Jammu were also present in the Session. The session was well attended by representatives of various industrial units, law students and faculty of Dogra Law College.
