Don’t rub salt into our wounds; shun divisive politics if you can: GLR to Mehbooba

August 31: Former MLC & JK UT spokesperson of BJP Girdhari Lal Raina asked PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti to stop rubbing salt into the wounds of the Displaced Community. The community has not forgotten the Divisive, disruptive & confrontational politics of PDP, its founder and Mehbooba Mufti Sayeed, who continues to use acrimonious narrative for narrow political gains; said the former MLC.

He reminded PDP the role played by its founder during 1986 Anantnag communal attacks on the minority community of Kashmiri Pandits. Even the then general secretary of his party at that time had criticised Muftis for hateful role played during that period.Healing touch policy for terrorists and heating touch policy for the Displaced Community is still fresh in the memory of the Displaced Community; he added. No amount of white washing can erase these bitter recollections, stressed GL Raina. He recollected how continued hangover of the invader’s mentality was responsible for overturning the age-old spirit of togetherness, syncretisation and tradition drawing strength from its shared heritage in Kashmir society.

Mufti family and PDP have contributed and in fact continue to contribute to undermine and attack that tradition, Ex MLC emphasized.Girdhari Lal Raina – Prabhari of Kashmir Displaced District (KDD) condemned the studied silence of PDP Chief on issues like was plundering of Pandit houses in 1989-90 under the watch of her father who was Minister of Home Affairs during that consequential period. The plundered household items including windows and doors of Pandit community that were sold openly in markets in Kashmir and land grabbing and illegal encroachment of the immovable property of the community left behind.GL Raina cautioned the community against the political baits without substantial change in the ideology of hate and deceit of PDP.
