DEO assesses AMFs at polling stations across Baramulla

BARAMULLA, MAY 08: In view of the Lok Sabha Elections in Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency on 20th May, District Election Officer (DEO), Baramulla, Minga Sherpa today conducted comprehensive inspection of various polling stations in the district.
The purpose of the visit was to assess the Assured Minimum Facilities (AMFs) at polling stations in line with the guidelines of Election Commission of India.
The DEO meticulously assessed the infrastructure and amenities at various polling stations at Dangerpora, Azad Gunj, Khanpora to ensure seamless and efficient voting experience for everyone.
The comprehensive inspection encompassed vital aspects like accessibility, ramps for voters with disabilities, proper sanitation facilities, availability of drinking water, electricity supply and other facilities for polling staff and voters.
The DEO also inspected Pink Polling Station with all-female staff and green polling station in 10-Baramulla, highlighting a commitment to gender inclusivity and environmental sustainability during Lok Sabha Elections.
During the visit, Minga Sherpa expressed his satisfaction regarding the arrangements put in place by the district administration and commended the efforts of all stakeholders involved in the preparations and urged continued cooperation to ensure success of electoral exercise.
Meanwhile, Minga Sherpa also reaffirmed the administration’s commitment towards upholding the principles of democracy and ensure a conducive environment for conducting free, fair, and transparent elections.
