DC Udhampur clears pending Land Acquisition cases 

UDHAMPUR, JUNE 01: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today chaired a collectors’ meeting for fixation of rates under Compulsory and Private Negotiation Committee (PNC) mode pertaining to District Udhampur. As many as 7 land acquisition cases under Compulsory and 9 under PNC mode were approved.

 In total Acquisition of 215 kanal land was approved for final award and disbursement of Compensation negotiated under PNC acquired for construction of training infrastructure STC BSF Udhampur, Construction of road from Bandhole to Upper Pattangarh under PMGSY, from Champari to Ghantwal under PWD sector ,  from Sarota to Chounthal phase -I under NABARD and Installation of towers of Power Grid Corporation of India limited in different villages.

  It is pertinent to mention here that 16 land acquisition cases were submitted by Spl Collector Defence Udhampur, Collector Land Acquisition (SDM) Chenani and Dudu to the office of District Collector Udhampur, for accord of approval. All cases have been approved by the District Collector.

 Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Joginder Singh Jasrotia, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Ramnagar Shishir Gupta,  Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Rafiq Ahmad Jaral, and other SDMs were present on the occasion.

Orientation programme for procurement through GeM organized at GCW Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, JUNE 1: A one-day training session and orientation for purchasing through Government e-Marketplace (GeM) was held today  in Government College for Women Udhampur.

The College principal, Prof. Anjali Mahajan, gave a description of the Government e-Marketplace (GeM). According to her, GeM is a dynamic, ongoing project of the government to change how government ministries and departments, public sector organisations, and other top autonomous bodies of the government acquire goods and services. The portal, according to her, allows for the utilisation of historical data and a feedback system for decision-making, promoting caution in budget management, quick account settlement with prompt payment to service providers, better pricing discovery, and the creation of auditory records.    

 Principal Prof. Anjali Mahajan, who was speaking at the event, stated that the main goal of the orientation programme is to inform all of the purchase committee members about the Government e-Marketplace, a larger common platform for sale and procurement that is now a required purchase platform for all government departments. She also stressed about completing all the formalities before proceeding to buy on GeM.

Prof. Paramjit Singh, HoD of the Department of Computer Science, delivered a thorough presentation on registration and purchasing via the GeM portal at the event. He detailed a step-by-step process for how to purchase on the GeM portal. The problems faced by the purchasers from the purchasing committee as well as other members were also addressed throughout the orientation workshop.

Prof. Kewal Kumar, the convener of the college purchase committee, as well as other members or representatives of the purchase committee, attended the function. Prof. Kewal Kumar also stated that the benefits of the GeM portal include enabling single-window sales and procurement of all general goods and services through a streamlined procedure based on the principles of efficacy, transparency, and economy.

 Meanwhile: in continuation to the ongoing series of activities being organised to celebrate World Environment Day 2023, , the NCC unit  (1 J&K Girls Battalion NCC, Srinagar) of Govt. College for Women, Udhampur,  presented a ‘Nukkad Natak’ in Hindi, based on the theme ‘Plastic Free India’ to promote environmental awareness.

This NCC unit of the college is organizing a series of activities to celebrate World Environment Day with the support and guidance of Prof. Anjali Mahajan, principal of the college, under the Mission Life (Lifestyle for Environment), G-20 and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The main aim and motive of the playlet (Nukkad Natak), organized under this series of activities, was to create awareness amongst students and to inspire them to adopt an eco-friendly lifestyle.

In the Nukkad Natak, a total of 15 NCC cadets of 1 J&K Girls BN NCC Srinagar, actively participated and highlighted the various demerits of using plastic, polybags and polythene in human life and on animal health. They also expressed their views through this act creatively on  how we can make India a plastic free nation.

Earlier, NCC Caretaker of this BN,  Shallu Jasrotia, briefed about  the main theme of the playlet ‘Plastic Free India’.

Principal of the college, Prof Anjali Mahajan, appreciated the efforts of the NCC cadets and emphasized to aware people towards environmental conservation.
