DC Pulwama distributes Motorized Tricycles to 120 specially-abled persons of district

Also hands-over appointment letters to 35 Anganwadi workers under Poshan Mission

PULWAMA, AUGUST 07: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom today distributed keys of Motorized Tricycles to 120 specially-abled persons of various locations of Pulwama district at Distirict Headquarters Pulwama. He also handed over appointment letters to 35 Anganwadi workers under Poshan Mission.

The beneficiaries to be provoded motorized Tricycles were identified by Social Welfare Department well in advance.

ADDC Pulwama, CPO Pulwama along with officers from Social welfare Department, ICDS and Information department participated.

Speaking on the occasion, DC complimented the Social Welfare Department for organizing the distribution camp for specially-abled persons. He said Motorised Tricycles will empower the people with special needs and would include them in mainstream life.

He added that the mobility of the specially challenged people would be pivotal in earning sustainable livelihoods without inconvenience and asked the DSWO to organise more programmes in near future for creating more and more awareness among the general masses.

The DC also appreciated the efforts of the department in reaching out to the marginalised and downtrodden sections of the society.

Dr Basharat while handing over the appointment letters to Anganwadi workers said that government is providing employment opportunities to all section of the society by making appointment process fair and transparent.

Congratulating the newly appointed workers, he called upon them to work with full dedication, honesty and integrity, and work for eliminating malnutrition among children. He also appreciated the work being done by Anganwadi workers in the field.
