Cleanliness Drive launched in Udhampur District to promote Swachhta Abhiyan

UDHAMPUR, OCTOBER 07: The District Administration Udhampur conducted a massive cleanliness and sanitation drive across all Municipal wards and Blocks in the district to raise awareness about cleanliness.

The initiative was spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai, accompanied by Additional District Development Commissioner Ghan Sham Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Joginder Singh Jasrotia, and various departmental officials and stakeholders.

The drive commenced with a march led by DC Saloni Rai and her team, commencing from MH Chowk and concluding at the Town Hall.

Emphasizing the significance of cleanliness and personal hygiene, she urged all participants to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings and motivate others to do the same. She also encouraged the public to abandon the use of polythene, practice hygiene, and protect water resources to preserve the district’s environment. She expressed gratitude to all participants and called upon them to collaborate with the District Administration in future cleanliness endeavors.

It’s noteworthy that the District Administration Udhampur has appointed Prabhari Officers, each responsible for organizing cleanliness drives and activities in their designated wards and blocks. These efforts will take place on the first Saturday of every month from 8 AM to 10 AM in specified wards within the Municipalities and throughout all Blocks in the Udhampur District.
