Chairperson DDC, DC conduct inspection of ongoing projects at District Hospital Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, September 13: Chairperson District Development Council (DDC), Lal Chand, and Deputy Commissioner (DC), Saloni Rai, today inspected the progress of work on the New Government Medical College during  a visit to District Hospital Udhampur.

During the inspection, the Chairperson DDC and DC evaluated several construction sites, such as the 200-bed teaching district hospital, the makeshift GMC Udhampur building, and ongoing library renovation work.

They issued crucial directives to expedite project completion, emphasizing to bring in additional manpower and extended work shifts. The GMC Principal was entrusted with close monitoring to ensure timely completion, especially for the makeshift college building.

Accompanied by the DC, the DDC Chairperson inspected each section of the hospital, interacting with medical staff and patients to assess healthcare services. They stressed hygiene standards and medical care enhancements within the facility.

Furthermore, the visit included a warm welcome to the inaugural MBBS batch at GMC Udhampur, with encouragement for high academic standards and dedication to humanity. The day culminated with the launch of the “Ayushman Bhava” campaign at GMC Udhampur.
