Yudhvir Sethi, Surinder Bhagat holds public darbar at BJP headquarters

Jammu, 23 May 2025: Yudhvir Sethi, Vice-President of J&K BJP and MLA from Jammu East, and Surinder Bhagat, MLA from Marh, held a public darbar at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

The event witnessed participation of many deputations from Jammu and its surrounding areas to voice their concerns and seek redressal of long-pending civic and administrative issues.

The darbar served as a platform for direct communication between the people and the BJP leadership.

Deputations from Jhiri, Dub Ditta, New Plot, Amphalla, Tok Ploura, Kachi Chawni, Janipur, Maheshpura, Bohri, Panjtirthi, Trikuta Nagar and others presented the issues related to the repair and reconstruction of damaged lanes and drains, installation and proper functioning of street lighting systems, and improvements in the supply of clean drinking water. Matters related to the Revenue Department, such as land mutation delays and property disputes, were also brought to the fore. Additionally, concerns were raised regarding the poor implementation of welfare schemes in certain under-served areas and the pressing need for better road connectivity and healthcare facilities.

Yudhvir Sethi and Surinder Bhagat listened patiently to the deputations. In many cases, the leaders responded on the spot by contacting concerned departmental officers, issuing written directives, and instructing immediate action. Several grievances were resolved during the course of the event itself, reinforcing public confidence in responsive governance.

Yudhvir Sethi, while listening to the grievances, emphasized the BJP’s people-centric approach and its commitment to transparent governance. “The public darbar is not merely a formality. It is a testament to our resolve to remain connected with the people we serve. Our goal is to offer real solutions, not just assurances,” he said. He added that the BJP believes in meaningful action over rhetoric and that every issue raised by the people would be taken seriously.

Sethi further noted that regular public interactions are essential in identifying ground-level issues that often go unnoticed in formal bureaucratic processes. “These darbars provide us with first-hand insights into the daily struggles of our citizens. They enable us to take corrective measures quickly and efficiently,” he stated.

Surinder Bhagat, while interacting with the public, underscored the role of elected representatives as facilitators of change. “We are not here just to legislate but also to ensure that governance reaches every doorstep. Public darbars like this empower citizens to directly communicate with their leaders without intermediaries, creating a culture of accountability and inclusion,” he said.
