Weekly Block Diwas held across B’la

People enthusiastically participated in the Prog., put forth their issues & demands

BARAMULLA, JANUARY 11:  With an aim to take stock of public grievances and raise awareness about various government initiatives,  weekly Block Diwas programme was today observed across all the sub divisions of Baramulla district.

At Hadipora Block Rohama, Pattan, Tangmarg and other Sub divisions, elected representatives, senior citizens and public in large numbers enthusiastically participated in the function and raised various developmental issues and asked for their timely redressal.

People put forth various issues before the officers including proper drinking water, unscheduled power cuts, proper drainage system alongside roads, replacement of wooden poles and worn out wires.

During the programme, grievances were registered by concerned officials and the public were updated about the latest status of the works.

Speaking on the occasion, the concerned sub divisional heads informed the participants that their genuine grievances have been noted by the concerned departments for necessary action. They were impressed upon to actively participate in the development process of the block and endeavour to make it a model block in sanitation and other developmental parameters.

It was informed that observing “Block Diwas” is an outreach initiative of UT administration to get first hand knowledge of public grievances and actively involve them in planning and execution of developmental plans.

Moreover, the sub divisional heads exhorted participants to actively take part in the movement to make every panchayats clean and green. It was reiterated that  the PRIs and youth of panchayats have to take lead for successful implementation of this initiative.
