Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan: Mega awareness programme held at Shangus Anantnag

ANANTNAG, JUNE 11: A grand awareness programme under the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA) was successfully organised today by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Anantnag in collaboration with Agriculture and allied sectors at Shangus, Anantnag.

The programme was graced by Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Shangus, Riyaz Khan and Director Extension SKUAST-Kashmir Dr. Raihana Habib.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local farming community and officials from agriculture and allied sectors.

In their addresses, dignitaries highlighted the significance of the campaign in transforming the agricultural landscape of the region. They emphasized the importance of adopting modern agricultural technologies and practices to improve productivity and enhance farmers’ incomes.

The dignitaries lauded the collaborative efforts of various departments and assured that similar programmes will be organised in future to ensure that the benefits of science and innovation reach the grassroots level.

Dr. Ishtiyaq Ahmad Khan, Head of KVK Anantnag, provided a comprehensive overview of the activities carried out under VKSA during the past 12 days across the district. He elaborated on the outreach and training sessions conducted for farmers on various agri-technological interventions.

The event also featured addresses by Chief Agriculture Officer Anantnag, Horticulture Development Officer (HDO) Shangus and representatives from other line departments. They spoke about the schemes, subsidies, and support available to farmers, urging them to take full advantage of these initiatives.
