Vigyan Jyoti students of JNV Leh visit ISRO Space Exhibition in Leh

LEH, September 18: The students of Vigyan Jyoti Programme of JNV Leh visited the ISRO space exhibition organised by LAHDC, Leh in collaboration with Ladakh University and Space Application Centre (SAC-ISRO) Ahmadabad.

The students were shown documentary based on history and researches of space program. Besides, the students were shown models of Geo-stationary satellite, PSLV, Chandrayaan-1, Mars, Orbiter mission, spacesuit etc. Also, they were given demonstration of rocket propulsion.

At last, they had a motivational talk with Scientists of SAC-ISRO Ahmadabad.

Additionally, resource material was distributed to 48 Vigyan Jyoti scholars of class XII of JNV and KV Leh Ladakh by Vigyan Jyoti Coordinator, Reena Thakur, PGT (Chemistry) under the guidance of Principal, Suresh Kumar Bahrod.

Vigyan Jyoti program is a new initiative of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India to bring gender priority in different fields of Science and Technology where females are represented.

The main objective of this program is to increase the representation of girls in different streams of Science. In this regard to enhance their knowledge C-STEM Kits (innovative product to strengthen students knowledge) were distributed to VJ scholars class Xth of JNV and KV Leh Ladakh.
