Vice Chairperson DDC Udhampur takes stock of public issues

UDHAMPUR, FEBRUARY 12: Juhi Manhas Pathania, Vice Chairperson District Development Council on Sunday met a diverse rainbow of delegations and took stock of public grievances during her visits to villages Talpar, Barta and at her Office in DC Office Complex Udhampur.

The locals demanded provision of drinking water, electricity supply, road connectivity. The delegations had a detailed discussion with the Vice Chairperson regarding the key developmental issues pertaining to their areas.    

Among various issues projected was the demand for road connectivity from Jagote to High School Balta via Mazoom under NABARD. People also projected the issues of scarcity of water and demanded speeding up of works on JJM schemes. Sarpanch Panchayat Ser Balla complained about slipshod and sub-standard execution of work on GHSS Kasturi under RAMSA.

Lila Sharma, Sarpanch Panchayat Barta also projected issues of public importance. Arti Sharma, Sarpanch Mand East, was also vocal about various issues confronting her area.

Responding to the issues, the Vice Chairperson contacted concerned departments on the spot and assured the delegations of favourable response. Pathania also took note of various ongoing developmental projects in the Talpar and Barta area and directed the concerned departments for promptness in delivery of essential services and time-bound completion of developmental projects ensuring the quality of works for the early benefits of people of the area.

During interaction with PRIs,  Juhi Manhas Pathania sought their cooperation in dealing with issues of public and work with zeal and promote harmony and mutual brotherhood amongst the society. She also asked them to act as a bridge between administration, general public and government schemes so that the last man in the queue can reap the benefits of government schemes.

Pathania also inaugurated Brahma Kumaris Centre at Talpar as Chief Guest along with BK Sarla Chief Administrator Prajapita Brahma Kumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya, Channi Morh.

 Speaking on the occasion she said that spirituality is the guiding light which can show the right path to the entire humanity. She said that the Brahma Kumaris believe in Karmayoga. From here, knowledge is being given to the society in practical ways. Only yoga will change the world. Peace will come in the world only through yoga and spirituality.

Through the spirit of service based on peace, non-violence and love, this organization has made significant contributions in many fields like holistic education, rural development, health, women empowerment, disaster management, welfare of divyangjans and orphans and environment protection. She appreciated Brahma Kumaris for these noble works. Among others present were prominent leaders Arti Sharma, Nisha Mahajan, Barta Sarpanch Lila Devi, Bishan Naib Sarpanch Talpad, Puja Sharma and Vishwa Nath, panches and other local people of the area.
