Udhampur hosts drug abuse detection, management training for students

UDHAMPUR, MARCH 24: A training programme for early detection of drug abuse and post-detection management was held in Udhampur. The event was sponsored by Mission Youth in collaboration with the District Administration and organised by the Department of Social Welfare.

150 students from various colleges and educational institutions participated in the programme. Resource persons including Additional SP, Anwar-Ul-Haq, Dr Anil Saloch and Sr. Lecturer, Renu Kotwal delivered motivational lectures about the ill effects of narcotic drugs.

The ASP also discussed the overall scenario of drug abuse in Udhampur and advised participants on how to remain alert against drug traffickers and report suspicious activity to the district police.

District Social Welfare Officer, Kanika Gupta spoke about why youth fall prey to drug abuse and the various remedies and treatments available to help them reintegrate into society.
