Three-day Annual Mela begins at Historic Sudhmahadev, Mantalai Temples

Secretary DT pays obeisance, inspects facilities for visiting devotees

Udhampur, June 10: The annual three-day Mela commenced today at the historic Sudhmahadev and Mantalai Temples, marking a significant cultural event for thousands of devotees from across the region.

On the instructions of Hon’ble Chairman Trustee Dr Karan Singh ji and other Trustees, Ashok Sharma (IPS Retd), Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Dharmarth Trust, visited the ancient temples on the inaugural day to pay obeisance and offer prayers for the peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir. He also conducted a thorough inspection to oversee the arrangements for the smooth conduct of the ongoing Mela.

During his visit, the Secretary inspected the various facilities that are being put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the Mela. He expressed satisfaction with the progress being made and encouraged all concerned to continue working towards ensuring that the Mela is a success.

“The Mela at Sudhmahadev and Mantalai Temples is not just a festival but a celebration of our rich cultural heritage,” he said, emphasizing the importance of preserving these ancient sites for future generations.

Ashok Sharma underscored the Trust’s collaboration with local authorities and community groups to ensure all necessary arrangements are in place, and that the festival is conducted in a safe and secure environment.
