Sunil Prajapati condemns statement of AIBCU

Sunil Prajapati, President BJP OBC Morcha JK UT during Samajik Sammelan held at Rajpura Mandal (Samba), grossly condemned the statement of All India Backward Class Union (AIBCU) that BJP has cheated OBCs of J&K, which is totally a false narrative set by the few people of OBC community in the UT, planted by the opposition to malign the image of BJP as well as to mislead the innocent people of OBCs and also provoke them against BJP. While in fact it was the Congress and National Conference (NC), who have deceived the OBCs since from implementation of OBC reservation in the Country and provided only 2% reservation to OBC under Social Caste (OSC) categories to 27 OBC castes, whereas a large portion of OBC quota ie. 20% OBC reservation was diverted to Residents of Backward Areas (RBA), the village of choices of the MLAs of ruling party were included in this category (RBA). But AIBCU never spoken against the discrimination and injustice against the OBCs category who were mere given 2% reservation out of 27% OBC quota and 23% quota diverted to RBA and ALC in violation of Constitutional provisions and Mandal Commission recommendation, being the area-based reservation while the OBC quota is meant for the Backward Classes and not for the Backward Areas.

Sunil Prajapati accused AIBCU members, who on the behest of opposition are now issuing misleading statements that BJP has cheated the OBCs and given nothing as 27% reservation as per Mandal Report has not been provided but only changed the nomenclature to OBC, which is totally false, baseless and misleading, as 27% OBC reservation has not been extended to each State and UT but as a whole in the Country. Reservation to OBCs is provided as per population of the category and not the 27% blindly. OBC category will be provided the reservation equivalent to Population ratio, for which the Govt is working on this and population is being ascertained in coordination with Revenue as well as Rural Department, and very soon Govt will be able to calculate the actual population of OBCs and accordingly the percentage of reservation will be fixed.

Sunil Prajapati, countering the statement of AIBCU, expressed that Modi Govt after abrogation of Article 370 have extended 27% reservation for admissions in Kendriya Vidyalyas, Army Schools and Navodaya Vidyalaya for the poor families in the OBC categories who have even never dreamed of admission in such Central Schools. Modi Govt have also extended 27% reservation in NEET, MBBS, MDS as Technical Education Institutions.

Modi Govt have now introduced the OBC category in J&K first time since implementation of reservation to OBC category during 1993, replacing OSC category through J&K Reservation (Amendment) Bill 2023 and a notification has also been issued by the Govt of India declaring the effective date for reservation under OBC category as 26 December 2023 replacing OSC category. He added that the Modi Govt has also extended reservation to OBCs for reservation of seats in elections of Panchayats and the Municipalities which was otherwise available in other States as per Article 243 D (6) and 243 T(6) of the constitution as included in the constitution vide 73rd and 74th amendments during 1992.
