Students of Poonch Campus attended training program under “Holistic Agriculture Development Programme”

POONCH , March 4 : The Students of the Department of Sericulture, Poonch Campus University of Jammu today attended a training program in Sericulture under “Holistic Agriculture Development Programme” at KVK Poonch.  

The one-day training program was organized by SKUAST Jammu, KVK Poonch. The students of the Poonch Campus were accompanied by the faculty members of the Department of Sericulture.  

The Govt of J&K has launched the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme to expand business and marketing opportunities for farmers with a well-planned Holistic Agriculture Development programme which is immensely helping Jammu and Kashmir to move towards historic transformation. 

During the training program, presentations were given by the experts and members of the technical working group from agriculture and allied sectors. 

The training was imparted to Students, faculty of Department of Sericulture, Poonch Campus, officers of agriculture and allied sectors including Agriculture, Sericulture, Apiculture, Horticulture etc. 

Director Poonch Campus Prof. Dipankar Sengupta while congratulating SKUAST-Jammu KVK Poonch for organizing such training program.  

He thanked Mr. Rakesh Kumar Chief Agriculture Officer Poonch, Dr. Ajay Gupta Sr. Scientist and Head KVK Poonch, Dr. Muzaffar Mir Scientist KVK Poonch, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Guru Programme Assistant KVK Poonch, Mr Mohd Riaz Sericulture Assistant Lamberi Circle, Ms. Avinder Kour Sericulture Assistant Poonch Circle. 

Dr Rubia Bukhari Campus Officer Poonch Campus appreciated the initiative of the Department which will provide an exclusive opportunity to interact directly with the growers/farmers. She also thanked Dr. Muzaffar Mir Scientist KVK and team of KVK poonch for inviting students and faculty of Poonch Campus in this training program.  

Dr Suraksha Chanotra Incharge, Dr Muzafar Ahmad Bhat, Miss Kalpna Sudan and Miss Sumya Kapoor were also present from Department of Sericulture, Poonch Campus, University of Jammu
