Social Welfare dept Pulwama organises mega event on NMBA

PULWAMA, July 16: The Department of Social Welfare Pulwama organized a mega event on Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) to raise awareness against drug abuse and its consequences.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Tral, Sajid Yehaya Naqash was the chief guest of the event.

The ADC Tral  in his speech delved on the scenario of drug addiction in Kashmir. He made the participants aware about the alarming rise in the number of substance abusers & drug distributors across the UT. 

He addressed the audience with a soulful speech on drug abuse and how youth can save themselves from this evil by following religious teachings. He elaborated the role of educational institutions in eradicating the drug menace. 

Earlier, a detailed introduction about the event was presented by Rameez Raja, DSWO Pulwama.

Gender Specialist DHEW(Mission Shakti) Pulwama & Teacher from Aripal tral delivered speech on how our youth is indulging in substance abuse. They advised the audience to aware the young wards against the menace of narcotic drug & Psychotropic  substance.

College Tral delivered speeches on ” Drug Menace and the Role of Educational Institutions. 

Tehsildar Tral & Aripal, Station House Officer, officials from Social Welfare department, District Hub for Empowerment of Women, OSC (Mission Shakti) Pulwama, students from Govt Degree College Tral, different High & Higher secondaries,  frontline workers from Mission poshan and Health, were present in the event.
