SMVDU Holds Kit and Certificate Distribution Ceremony for Soft Skills Training Program

Reasi 6 May: The SMVDU Skill Hub Centre organized a Kit and Certificate Distribution Ceremony at the Central Workshop, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. The event was part of the Basic Soft Skills Training Program, run under the Skill Hub Center, in collaboration with BOSCH.

Training kits were distributed to the newly enrolled candidates, while certificates were awarded to the participants of the previous batch who successfully completed the course. The ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, who praised the program’s positive impact on the local youth. Prof. Balbir Singh, Dean of Academic Affairs, emphasized the importance of skill development in today’s job market.

 Dr. Y AnandHead of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Dr. Anurag, Head of the School of Languages appreciated the efforts of the Skill Hub Centre and encouraged the youth to make full use of such opportunities. Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Associate Professor school of Mechanical Engineering and Coordinator of the Skill Hub Centre, highlighted the program’s focus on equipping youth with essential soft skills to enhance employability and confidence. Additionally, the SMVDU Skill Hub Centre is expanding its efforts to empower youth through skill development. Under the PMKVY 4.0 scheme, two new training batches are currently running: Electrician Domestic Solutions and Assistant Carpenter. This expansion is a proud moment for SMVDU as we contribute to the nation’s skill development mission, helping more youth gain valuable skills for a brighter future. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Er. Deepak Byotra, who acknowledged the support of all involved in making the event and training programs a success.
