Silver futures rise on spot demand

New Delhi, Apr 18 (PTI) Silver prices on Thursday jumped Rs 32 to Rs 83,531 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for May delivery increased Rs 32 or 0.04 per cent to Rs 83,531 per kg in 24,521 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading higher 0.06 per cent at USD 28.46 per ounce in New York.
