Sham Sharma, Mohan Lal holds public darbar at BJP headquarters
Sham Lal Sharma demands reliable power supply in fully metered areas
Jammu, 09 June 2025: In a strong message to the concerned authorities, J&K BJP Vice-President and MLA Jammu North, Sham Lal Sharma, criticized the erratic power supply in areas with 100 percent metered connections, calling it unacceptable during the ongoing severe heat wave. He urged the government to ensure at least 80 percent electricity supply in these regions, stressing that uninterrupted power in fully metered areas is a basic and justified expectation.


Sham Lal Sharma was speaking during a Public Darbar held at BJP headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, jointly organized with MLA Akhnoor, Mohan Lal Bhagat. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from dozens of deputations representing various localities and social groups across Jammu.
Deputation from areas including Vikram Nagar Sarwal, Thara Kalwal Billawar, Gandhi Nagar, Last Morh, Sanjay Nagar, Upper Thathar Bantalab, Shiv Nagar, Mera Mandrian Akhnoor, Makka Milk Bhatindi, and others, raised pressing issues. These included damaged roads, electricity outages and billing disputes, blocked drains, lack of water connections, faulty electric poles, KVIB Kathua grievances, mining issues, and revenue-related concerns.
Both leaders listened attentively to the public concerns and took immediate steps to escalate the issues to the relevant departments. They emphasized the need for swift and time-bound resolution of all genuine grievances.
While addressing the public, Sham Lal Sharma emphasized that it is the fundamental responsibility of the government and the administration to take all necessary steps to improve the quality of life for the people. He asserted that elected dispensations must prioritize serving the common and needy citizens, which is the very reason they have been entrusted with power. Sharma stressed that the administration must focus on core public concerns such as uninterrupted electricity supply, clean drinking water, accessible healthcare, and quality education.
He further reiterated the BJP’s unwavering commitment to public service that extends far beyond election cycles. Sharma assured the public that BJP will continue to act as a strong bridge between the people and the administration to ensure that genuine issues are addressed without delay.
Mohan Lal Bhagat affirmed that the party is dedicated to serve the needy, ensuring that the benefits of development and welfare schemes under the Modi government reach the last person. He reaffirmed BJP’s inclusive approach to governance, rising above caste, religion, and region.
