Secretary Power & NRE, UT Ladakh Ravinder Kumer reviews the progress of Transmission Line projects

Leh, 5 September: Secretary Power and NRE, UT Ladakh Ravinder Kumer reviewed the progress of 9 MW Dah, 9 MW Hanu and 66 KV Dah Hanu and Khaltse Transmission Line projects. Managing Director JKPDC Pankaj Magotra was present during the meeting, along with other concerned officials.

Secretary Ravinder Kumar directed the executing agency of the Hydro Project and transmission line to complete all remaining works at the earliest highlighting that the project must stand completed by November 2023. Further the agency was instructed to put the Dah Hydro project in operation at the earliest. The department was also instructed to provide full cooperation in making arrangements for the evacuation of power.

Similarly, for Hanu Power project the agency was directed to complete all the balance works and initiate the testing of the civil and electrical works soon so that formal commissioning and handing over of the project can be taken up before the final timeline of December 2023.

For completion of the 66 KV Dah Hanu-Khaltsi transmission line, the agency was instructed to increase the deployment of sufficient manpower to meet the given deadline. In this regard, the agency assured meeting the timelines with the deployment of sufficient manpower so that evacuation from 9 MW Dah and Hanu HEPs can be made possible.

Secretary Power and NRE also discussed the agendas regarding Apportionment and Handing over of Assets and manpower of JKSPDC to Power Department of UT of Ladakh. JKSPDC was requested to consider for resolving all pending issues related to Compassionate Appointment cases, regularization of employees and confirmation of manpower of JKPDC working in Ladakh before they are apportioned to Ladakh.

MD JKSPDC assured Secretary Power that JKPDC will extend full cooperation in completion of the 9 MW Dah, 9 MW Hanu and 66 KV Transmission Line. Further it was also assured that all matter related to manpower, pending court cases will be resolved.
