Sarmad Hafeez chairs public grievances redressal camp at Shopian; Asks officers for expeditious disposal of local issues

SHOPIAN, DECEMBER 26: Secretary, Youth Services and Sports, Sarmad Hafeez, today chaired a mega public grievances redressal camp here to take stock of public issues and grievances.

Delegations including DD/BD Council, MC Councillors, fruit growers, traders, tribal leaders, activists, civil society members, SHG members and other groups besides PRI members  and public projected development issues and demands of their respective areas.

These delegations raised various issues which inter alia included improving sports infrastructure, health facilities at SDH Keller, development of green spaces and provision of other facilities in town, supply of water to water stressed areas, tourism promotion initiatives, development of Mughal Sarai, upgradation of Public Library, improving pre and post harvest management strategies in horticulture, agriculture and allied sectors, tourism promotion of spots and flood protection bund around Fruit Mandi Shopian.

Besides, other issues pertaining to Health, School Education, RDD, R&B, Higher Education and Sports Council were also flagged by locals.

Secretary instructed the officers to follow up on issues and demands as projected by the public for timely resolution.

While addressing, Sarmad Hafeez sought better public engagement and cooperation in making the district, a model of sustainable development.

Calling for strengthening grievance redressal mechanisms across departments, Secretary emphasized upon strengthening control rooms and help desks for prompt public grievance redressal.

Sarmad Hafeez asked the public to avail the benefits of revolutionising digital services.

Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb, apprised the Secretary of the measures being taken up by the district administration to fill the development gaps in improving the  development parameters of the district.

SSP, Tanushree, ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone,  ADC, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz, Deputy Secretary, YS&S, Waseem Raja besides other district officers were present on the occasion.

Besides, DDC and BDC members, PRIs and a large number of public also attended the event.
