Road Safety Month-2024: multiple Road Safety events held at Bijbehara sub-division

ANANTNAG, FEBRUARY 13:  The Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) Anantnag, in collaboration with the Health department and Govt Medical College Anantnag today organized a blood donation camp at Sumo Stand Bijbehara under the aegis of National Road Safety Month 2024.

The camp was inaugurated by Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Anantnag, Dr Mohammad Zubair Lattoo, who was also the chief guest on the occasion.

Speaking at the event, ARTO Anantnag said that the aim of the blood donation camp was to ensure availability of sufficient blood in the blood banks for accident victims, allowing for immediate lifesaving interventions during the ‘Golden Hour’ period.

In another event, a First Aid and CPR training camp was also organised in which hundreds of drivers were imparted training on First Aid and CPR. Life saving skills like how to use Fire Extinguishers, Use of tourniquet in case of bleeding, Mouth to mouth breathing etc were given to the participants.

Later, a maxi cab rally on Road Safety was flagged-off from Dooru by ARTO Anantnag which culminated in Kapran area of Verinag.

Dr Zubair said that the objective of such a rally was to raise awareness among the people of far flung areas about the importance of road safety in their lives and stressed the need for adherence to road safety measures.
