RDD initiates construction of Community bunkers, Trenches in Rajouri District
Workshop organised to update field staff on technical aspects
RAJOURI, MAY 17: In light of the prevailing security situation, the Rural Development Department (RDD), on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, has initiated the construction of community trenches/ bunkers in the border areas of Rajouri district.
To ensure effective and technically sound implementation of this crucial initiative, a workshop was organized today here in the conference hall of the PWD Dakbanglow. The session was aimed at sensitizing and training the field staff of the RDD on the technical aspects of trench construction.
The workshop was chaired by the Superintending Engineer (SE), PWD Tilak Raj; Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Auqil Nuvaid and EXEN REW Zahir Khan. The officers provided valuable guidance to the participants, emphasizing the importance of quality and timely execution of the work, considering the urgency of the situation.
During the session, the technicalities involved in the construction of community trenches/bunkers including design parameters, safety measures, were elaborately discussed.
The officials also interacted with the staff and addressed their queries to ensure clarity and effective on-ground implementation. This initiative is a proactive step towards ensuring the safety and security of residents in border areas.
Among the others present on the occasion were Block Development Officers and staff of the RDD.
