Rattan Lal bats for restoration of statehood, Assembly polls in J&K Says people fed-up with lies-riddle policies, misrule of BJP Property Tax was not mandate of ULB elections

REASI, March 6: Provincial President, National Conference, Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta has reiterated the demand for restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and also sought early Assembly polls to ensure justice to the people of the region.

The senior NC leader was speaking at the day-long workers convention held at Reasi today. Under the Chairmanship of its District President Reasi Babu Jagjeevan Lal.

Rattan Lal Gupta, while condemning forcibly implementation of property tax without consulting the elected public representatives, said that the so-called Achhe Din of BJp. He asserted that the imposition of property tax was not in the mandate of last local bodies elections held in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Provincial President lamented that the development has come to a complete halt in Reasi District  under the present dispensation and the bureaucrat-centric administration is least bothered to address the issues of the common people in absence of a duly elected representative government in place in this Union Territory. He said the government is interested in only imposing taxes instead of providing basic amenities to the common masses.

He maintained that the people of Gool, Arnas, Dharmadi, Pouni and other several areas of Reasi District are decrying for basic amenities as the whole district is facing acute shortage of health services, government ration, power and water supply and poor road connectively. Besides, the youth of Reasi district are highly disappointed due to lack of any policy for their bright future, he said, adding that J&K is top among the states in which unemployment and corruption at peak.

The Provincial President asserted that the Jammu and Kashmir is passing through a difficult phase and need of the time is to strengthen the hands of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah to steer it to peace, progress and development. He appealed to the people of whole Reasi District to teach BJP a lesson by extending full support to the National Conference in the forthcoming Assembly elections in the interest of people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Sheikh Bashir   Ahmad Provincial Secretary Jammu and Abdul Gani Malik former minister and Zone President Udhampur Reasi said that in times to come the tenure of the BJP government will be written as the darkest era in the history of India with people suffering the most as even basic amenities and facilities were made payable. He said that people of Reasi District are suffering a lot due to absence of popular government as the bureaucratic set-up has totally failed to fulfill the aspirations of the electorate which is feeling dejected and helpless.

He said that degradation of J&K State into a Union Territory has given a moral setback to the people and it is necessary to once again infuse confidence in the people by restoring the statehood of J&K and holding Assembly elections without any further delay.
