Randhawa slams NC Govt, assures redressal of public grievances at BJP Public Darbar

Jammu, 28 May 2025: Senior BJP leader and MLA from Bahu Assembly Constituency, Ch. Vikram Randhawa, strongly criticized the National Conference (NC) government for neglecting the everyday issues of the people of Jammu & Kashmir. Addressing a Public Darbar at the BJP Headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, Randhawa urged the J&K government to prioritize public welfare and grassroots concerns. He also mentioned the immediate need to address the issue of rehabilitation of Nai Basti Shopkeepers.

Highlighting the people-centric approach of the Modi government, Randhawa reiterated BJP’s commitment to resolve public grievances through the collective efforts of its 28 MLAs in the Union Territory. He emphasized the importance of pragmatic governance led by an elected government that remains connected to citizens’ daily challenges.

“This Public Darbar is a reflection of our resolve to remain accessible and accountable. Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the government has continuously stayed connected with the grassroots,” Randhawa stated.

The Darbar saw a massive turnout, with several deputations presenting pressing local issues. These included demands for community infrastructure, resolution of electricity bill concerns, land issues, drug abuse control, and civic infrastructure development.

Among other issues, a deputation from Shiv Vihar, Janipur requested for construction of a Community Bathroom and Matador Stand. A deputation from Bawe highlighted their concern about the excessive electricity Bills. A deputation raised concern about his land availability in KC Colony, lying pending in the Revenue Department. A large deputation presented requested for the construction of Parking near ERA Nallah at Trikuta Nagar. A deputation requested for transfer of shop from JDA. A deputation requested for opening of Ration Depot at Narwal Bala. A deputation complained about the increased Drug Menace in Rajiv Nagar. A deputation apprised about the non-functional lights in Ward No. 20 Gandhi Nagar. Different deputations from Extension Trikuta Nagar, Nai Basti and other areas complained about scarcity of drinking water. Deputations from Trikuta Nagar, and Greater Kailash requested for the construction/ repair of lanes/ drains.

Ch. Randhawa attentively heard the grievances, personally contacted officials of concerned departments for on-the-spot solutions and issued formal communications for pending matters. He assured the public of swift follow-up and resolution.

The event was smoothly coordinated by Er. T.K. Sharma, Co-convenor of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, J&K BJP, ensuring effective interaction between citizens and party leadership.
