Ramban police crack theft case in Sangaldan (Gool), recover stolen railway track wire

In a swift and commendable action, the Ramban Police have solved a theft case in Sangaldan, Gool, successfully recovering stolen earthing aluminium copper-coated wire laid on the railway track between Sangaldan and Dharam. The recovered property is estimated to be worth Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 60,000.

The case came to light on January 6th, 2024, when Mohd Ishaq, an employee of Savronik company in Sangaldan, lodged a complaint at the Gool Police Station regarding the theft of the essential railway track wire. Taking prompt action, SSP Ramban Mohita Sharma-IPS constituted a special team to investigate the incident and recover the stolen property.

Through meticulous investigation and rigorous efforts, the police apprehended one suspect, identified as Altaf Ahmed, from Salbala Gool, Tehsil Gool, District Ramban. Based on Altaf’s confession, the stolen wire was retrieved.

Furthermore, Altaf revealed the names of two more potential accomplices: Irfan Ahmed and Tariq Ahmed, both residents of Sangaldan. The police are currently pursuing their arrest.

Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for theft.
