Rajouri cyber unit recovers ₹15,500 in online fraud case

The District Cyber Investigation Unit Rajouri, a dedicated unit to deal with cases of online fraud and cybercrime, has successfully recovered and refunded the hard-earned money of a cyber fraud victim.

In a proactive response to recent financial fraud cases, District Cyber Investigation Unit Rajouri has achieved success by recovering and refunding funds to affected victims valued at rupees 15500.

A complaint of cybercrime and online fraud was received by the unit in Rajouri after which the dedicated team started its investigation.

Through diligent investigative efforts of this District Cyber Investigation Unit Rajouri’s team in coordination with financial institutions launched swift action into the fraudulent activities and recovered the unlawfully obtained fund ensuring justice and restitution for those impacted.

Rajouri Police said that cybercrime and online frauds have become a serious concern for society and innocent citizens fall prey to it losing their hard-earned money but Jammu and Kashmir’s police have taken a proactive approach to deal with such crimes and to help innocent victims.

However, people should remain fully aware of this threat and should follow all necessary precautions like not clicking any suspicious links, not responding to suspicious WhatsApp messages as well as SMS, not to respond spam calls, and never sharing their bank details like account number, debit and credit card number, CVV, PIN, OTP with unknown people especially on phone calls.
