Quarterly inspection of EVM & VVPAT Warehouse conducted by DEO Rajouri
RAJOURI, JUNE 23: District Election Officer (DEO) Abhishek Sharma today conducted the quarterly inspection of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) warehouse here at Model Boys Higher Secondary School.
During the inspection, the DEO thoroughly checked the entry and exit registry of the warehouse, reviewed the security arrangements in place, and directed the officials to verify CCTV footage to ensure continuous surveillance. He also instructed the concerned staff to furnish a detailed checklist of the items stored in the warehouse, in compliance with the Election Commission of India’s guidelines.
The inspection was conducted in the presence of representatives from all major political parties, ensuring transparency and adherence to the laid-down procedures. Deputy District Election Officer Qadeer ur Rehman, Election Naib Tehsildar Surjeet Singh and other designated election staff also accompanied the DEO during the inspection.
The DEO emphasized the importance of maintaining the sanctity and security of the EVM and VVPAT machines, highlighting that periodic inspections play a crucial role in ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process.
