PSPS Govt Women College Organises ‘Nursery raising’

JAMMU, MAY 22: Department of Botany, Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Govt. College for Women Gandhi Nagar today celebrated International Biodiversity Day by organising ‘Nursery raising -2023’ competition.

The activity was inaugurated by the College Principal Prof. Minu Mahajan.

Prof. Mala Bhasin, Convenor and Head of Department of Botany welcomed the esteemed dignitaries and threw light on the importance of Biodiversity and its conservation.

Interacting with students, Prof. Minu Mahajan, Principal of College appreciated the participation of students and motivated them to be part of conservation based research programs launched by Govt. of India.

A total of 36 students participated and displayed their plants under the category of adopt, rescue and propagate. The event was judged by Prof. Kamlesh Salathia, Dr. Indu Khajuria and Prof. Vasudha Choudhary. 

 Prableen Kour and Haspreet Kour got First  and Second Positions while third position was clinched jointly by Dyuti Kour and Ayera Bashir.

The event was coordinated successfully by the  members of the organising Committee- Dr. Anju Koul, Prof. Sugandha Mahajan, Dr. Renu Sharma, Prof. Meenakshi Sharma, Prof. Swarn Singh and Dr. Moien Qadir Malik.
