PSPS Govt College for Women hosts Training Workshop on ‘Effective Communication & Leadership’

JAMMU, May 11: Department of English, Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government College for Women , in collaboration with ELFA International, hosted a one – day Training Workshop on “Effective Communication and Leadership” here today.

Around 85 students from different departments of the College participated in the said workshop. The Resource Person for the Workshop was Mr. Mehran Khan, a renowned International Humanitarian Activist and a Development Practitioner.

Dr. Jyoti Dutt, the HOD English extended the formal welcome to the Principal of the College, Resource Person along with his team from ELFA International- Sajad Mir, Regional Coordinator; Anjali Anand, Project Coordinator and Fatima Khan, Mobilization Officer and  student participants. She further highlighted the objective of such meaningful workshops from which students can benefit themselves in practical usage of language.

 The engaging activities during the workshop helped participants to learn communication effectively, build stronger relationships and lead teams to success.  The workshop also covered a variety of topics including communication styles, active listening, non-verbal communication, conflict resolution and leadership skills that shall help the learners to wade through the adversities of life.

 The College Principal, Prof. Minu Mahajan, in her address encouraged the students to be part of such workshops to meet the modern parameters of language and communication skills to get into the mainstream. She also congratulated the organizing Committee for taking such initiatives which is the need of the hour.

 The workshop was jointly organised by Prof.Bindu Sharma, Prof.Neelam Thapa, Dr. Kiran Kalra, Dr. Nidhi Choudhary, Prof. Suman Bala, Dr. Sheweta Magotra and Dr. Fayaz Ahmed.

The proceedings of the event were conducted by Dr. Chetna Mahajan and the event concluded with formal Vote of thanks by Dr. Shakun Mahajan.
