Police officers imparted training on functioning of EVMs, VVPATs at Doda

DODA, April 03: Police officers and officials were today imparted  training about  handling of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections-2024 at DPL here.

Led by Dr. Akhter Hussain, Nodal Officer Training and Human Resource, the training session witnessed presence of   SP,   Shakeel Butt, SP Operation Sunil Ji, and other sectoral and zonal officers from the police department.

The District Level Master Trainers (DLMTs) and Assistant Level Master Trainers (ALMTs) provided comprehensive guidance to participants on various aspects of electoral process and  operation of EVMs/VVPATs.

The training session covered array of topics like the setup and testing of machines, troubleshooting common issues, and ensuring the integrity and security of the voting process. Participants were also given the opportunity to engage in practical exercises, simulating a polling station environment. Additionally, a mock polling training session was conducted to further enhance their understanding.

Furthermore, the session included detailed information on the duties of the Flying Squad Team (FST) and Video Surveillance Team (VST), emphasizing their roles in ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process. Police personnel were provided insights into duty schedules and guidelines for handling FST and VST teams, further enriching the training experience.

Overall, the training session served as a crucial preparatory step in ensuring that law enforcement personnel are well-prepared to uphold the integrity of  electoral process and facilitate smooth elections in  Doda district.
