Police foils bovine smuggling attempt in Jammu’s Nagrota, rescues 15 bovines
Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) successfully thwarted a bovine smuggling attempt in the Nagrota area of Jammu district. Alert officials seized one vehicle and rescued 15 bovines being transported illegally.

In this regard, Case FIR No.136/2024 U/S 188/IPC 11 PCA 50/52/54/56 Transport of Animals Rules 1978 Act has been registered in PS Nagrota & investigation is in progress. pic.twitter.com/J0WYr0EKwm
A case (FIR No. 136/2024) has been registered at Police Station Nagrota under various sections of the law, including Indian Penal Code (IPC) 188, Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act (PCA) 11, and Transport of Animals Rules 1978 (50/52/54/56).
The investigation into the smuggling attempt is currently underway.
