Police book Rohingyas and facilitators for illegal stay and document fraud in Ramban

In a major development, the Ramban Police in Jammu and Kashmir have booked several Rohingya individuals and their local facilitators for illegally residing in the district and fraudulently obtaining Indian identity documents.

This action comes amidst ongoing concerns about illegal immigration and document tampering involving the Rohingya community in J&K.

Following a thorough investigation, police discovered that the individuals in question had been residing in Ramban without legal authorization. Moreover, they were allegedly engaged in obtaining Indian identity documents through illicit channels, raising concerns about potential security risks.

The individuals were taken into custody, and a case has been registered against them for violations related to illegal stay and the procurement of identity documents under false pretenses.
