PM Vishwakarma Yojana will uplift underprivileged classes of Jammu Kashmir: Sat Sharma

Prime Minister Vishwakarma Yojna will definitely uplift under Privileged classes of Jammu Kashmir, stated Sat Sharma and added that the people across Jammu Kashmir are feeling enthusiastic and happy with PM Vishwakarma yojana and registering themselves in large numbers .

Sat Sharma Former Minister said this while addressing a large gathering of people belonging to the OBC community during ‘PM Vishwakarma Yojana Awareness and Registration Camp, organized in Ward 29, at Vishwakarma Sabha Shakti Nagar Jammu in Jammu west Assembly Constituency, alongwith Sunil Prajapati, President BJP OBC Morcha.

Sat Sharma said that during the last ten years, the BJP government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has launched dozens of welfare schemes for the socio-economic upliftment of the poor and weaker sections and people from different categories have availed the benefits of the same.

Sat Sharma said that continuing with the commitment to take care of every class in the society, this government has now launched ‘PM Vishwakarma Yojna, which is a mega scheme meant to promote livelihood opportunities for the people of Other Backward Classes (OBC) and other sections engaged in traditional skills. Eighteen traditional trades will be covered in the first instance under the scheme, which include Carpenter, Boat Maker, Armourer, Blacksmith, Hammer and Tool Kit Maker, Locksmith, Goldsmith, Potter, Sculptor, Stone carver, Stone breaker, Cobbler, Shoesmith, Footwear artisan, Mason), Basket/Mat/Broom maker, Coir Weaver, Doll & Toy Maker.

He further said that the scheme aims to strengthen and nurture the Guru Shishya parampara or family-based practice of traditional skills by artisans and crafts people working with their hands and traditional tools. He said the scheme also aims at improving the quality, as well as the reach of products and services of artisan and crafts people and to ensure that the Vishwakarmas are integrated with the domestic and global value chains.

Sunil Prajapati, while speaking in the camp, said that the artisans and crafts people will be provided Recognition Certificate and ID card. They will also get credit support upto Rs 1 lakh (First Tranche) and Rs.2 lakh (Second Tranche) with a concession in interest rate of 5%. The Scheme will further provide Skill upgradation, Toolkit Incentive, Incentive for Digital Transactions and Marketing Support.
